To use all possibilities of the direct radio controlling feature, a special connection cable
is necessary. The reason therefor is that the loudspeaker will be muted as soon as the cable
is plugged into the radio. Unfortunately, the original cable PG-4Y from Kenwood does not provide
a way to get access to the AF (audio) signal.
We can offer two solutions for such a cable, which you can manufacture yourself very easily. The first
solution requires just the Kenwood cable PG-4Y while the second requires both the
Kenwood PC Connection Cable PG-4Y and the Kenwood TNC Connection Cable (open at one end) PG-5C.
Either way, you get the possibility to control the radio directly via the computer using
RadioControl with the TH-F6A/TH-F7E driver and have access to the AF signal that can be applied
to an external loudspeaker or the line-in of the computer's sound card.
